This is my painting entitled, “The Last Voyage” which is painted in Oil on linen. It is a painting based on adolescense. The disapearance of childhood where the child starts to begin a journey into teenage years. The start of Adulthood.
I am still having fun with this series of paintings however I imagine this may be the last of this sort of happy style of painting. I did create an image with directional arrows explaining the different ideas and theme of the painting. Have a look and see what you think.
This year I was given an ARUA membership by the Royal Ulster Academy. Absolutely chuffed to be given this award with membership to the Academy.

Being a member to the Academy this also means I am able to submit two pieces of artwork into the Royal Ulster Academy annual exhibition every year. The other piece I included in this years show was a painting entitled, “The Irishman”. This painting was completed in oil on wood.
The painting was based on the portrayal of my father. He has a love for the west coast of Ireland. The Irish is in him with a love for Connemara, Dingle and is a massive fan of the film entitled, “The Quiet Man”. His passion for the west coast of Ireland has now been passed on to me where I now wish to spend my time with my own family in this part of the country in Ireland.
